BUNKER 27 was born in 2016, but the story behind the brand began years earlier with my service in the U.S. Air Force—first on active duty and later in the Air Force Reserve.

Why We Started Bunker 27

After leaving the military, I spent more than a decade building a career in technology, marketing, and real estate, but I was always drawn back to the values of service. The bonds built through shared experiences, discipline, and purpose don't fade—they stay with you for life.

BUNKER 27 began with a unit shirt I kept from my time in the Air Force. Nearly 20 years later, I still have it because it represents the friendships, memories, and pride that came from serving something bigger than myself.

That shirt inspired BUNKER 27: apparel that honors those who have served and recognizes the importance of every role. In the military, every person contributes to the mission, regardless of rank or job. That belief in purpose, teamwork, and pride is the foundation of everything we create.

What Does BUNKER 27 represent?

I have always been fascinated by Colorado’s Cheyenne Mountain Complex, the legendary military installation built deep within the mountain. Originally constructed as NORAD’s Combat Operations Center, it was designed to monitor North American airspace and provide early warning of missile and air attacks against the United States and Canada. Today, it continues to support NORAD and U.S. Northern Command as an alternate command center and as the home of critical military systems.

The complex is shielded by approximately 2,000 feet of solid granite and was built to remain operational under extraordinary conditions. Its hardened construction, constant readiness, and endurance inspired the name “BUNKER.”

These coordinates, featured in the BUNKER 27 logo and proudly displayed on our shirts, mark the location of the Cheyenne Mountain Complex. The name “BUNKER” reflects the installation’s strength and resilience, while the shield represents protection, unity, and the teamwork required to accomplish the mission.

The number 27 is deeply personal. It was my age when I completed my service in the Air Force. The uniform came off, but the mindset, discipline, and standards never left.

Together, the name BUNKER, the number 27, the shield, and the coordinates connect our military roots to the values our brand was built to represent. They are more than design elements—they are the foundation of the BUNKER 27 identity.
